Coach Vicki Corn

Vicki played softball at Winthrop College in the late 70s. She was head coach at Spartanburg Methodist College from 1984-1994.  During her tenure at SMC the team made 5 Junior College National appearances (with finishes of 8th, 5th, and 3rd in the last 3 appearances with Vicki at the helm).  She also had the good fortune to coach 7 All Americans and 5 pro players during her time at Spartanburg Methodist. Vicki has received numerous coaching awards, including NFCA Southeast Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1993.

She began her current coaching stint with the Crush in the late 90’s and many of her teams have performed admirably at the regional and national level. She is committed to producing quality softball players, but more importantly quality teammates who care about each other and show utmost respect for their opponents and the game.

She also served as assistant softball Coach at JL Mann High School for 10 years where the Lady Patriots won back-to- back 3A state titles in 2009 and 2010 and also won the 2011 AAAA State Championship in the first year at that classification.

Vicki currently works at USC Upstate (Greenville campus) as the Director of Student Services. 
She and her husband Les have 2 children, Colby and Kenzi; 3 grandchildren Rayleigh, Logan 
and Camden; daughter-in-law, Randi. Daughter, Kenzi, has followed in mom’s footsteps as she also played softball at Winthrop University. After college, she played 2 years professionally in Italy and she is currently an assistant coach at Presbyterian College.

On May 24th, 2018 Coach Vicki Corn has the honorary distinction of

being inducted into the softball ASA / USA Hall of Fame .

Coach Tammy Pace

Coach Tammy Pace played her college softball at Erskine College in the late 80’s.  She got involved in high school coaching soon after, spending 17 years at Laurens High School and the past 13 years at JL Mann High School in Greenville, SC. Tammy also serves as Guidance Counselor at Mann.

Tammy has also served as Assistant Coach to Vicki Corn with the Carolina Crush for the past 13 years, in a mutually productive reciprocal coaching agreement that has Vicki assisting Tammy at JL Mann. Tammy and Vicki complement each other very well in their interactions with their players and those players benefit greatly from their combined experience in the game of softball.

Tammy and husband Chuck have a daughter, Hannah and a son, Garrett. Hannah attended JL Mann and was part of two state championships. She went on to play at Furman University on a softball scholarship. Garrett was a volunteer assistant at Winthrop University for 4 years.
